At Quadra Dental Centre in Victoria, our dentists may recommend porcelain veneers as a treatment option to correct discoloured, chipped, misaligned or gapped teeth.
What is a Dental Veneer?
Veneers are razor-thin pieces of durable, tooth-shaped porcelain that are custom-made by a dental laboratory to match the shape and colour of your natural teeth.
At Quadra Dental Centre, veneers are used to create a more uniform smile for our patients. Your dentist will bond the restoration to the front of your natural tooth to help improve the shape, colour or symmetry of your smile.
At Quadra Dental Centre, we offer porcelain veneers to help permanently change the look of your smile for the better. Dental veneers are minimally invasive and mimic your tooth enamel's natural translucency and smoothness.
How Veneers Work
An impression of your teeth will be taken by your dentist. This impression will be used to create your custom veneers.
Once your veneers have been made, they will be bonded to the fronts of your natural teeth.
Made from a razor-thin piece of porcelain, veneers are custom-shaped to match your tooth (although they don't require as much reshaping as dental crowns). The porcelain imitates the natural translucency of your tooth enamel, and has an incredibly natural look and feel.
Benefits of Veneers
Whether you are aiming to improve the shape of individual teeth or the evenness of your entire smile, you may want to consider dental veneers as a less intrusive alternative to dental crowns.
Dental veneers are often used to restore the appearance of crooked, discoloured or worn teeth. They can also change the size of your teeth and reduce unwanted spacing between teeth. If cared for properly, dental veneers can last many years and protect the tooth's surface from further discolouration or damage.
