At Quadra Dental Centre, the technology we use helps us provide patients with efficient dental care including dental lasers, digital x-rays and an oral cancer screening device.
Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
At Quadra Dental Centre, we leverage technology to help plan effective treatments and make sure your dental appointments run smoothly. Since we can display digital x-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we are able to show you any emerging oral health issues and guide you through your treatment plan.
We're on a mission to provide patients with efficient dental care, and ensure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us accomplish this goal.
Instead of traditional photographic x-ray film, digital x-rays use digital sensors to produce highly detailed computer images of your teeth and gums, in addition to other oral structures and conditions. These digital images can be produced within minutes and allow your dentist to examine parts of your mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
Using panoramic x-rays, your dentist can create a single flat image of your entire mouth. This image represents your teeth, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), upper and lower jaws, and nasal and sinus structures. Our dentists typically use panoramic x-rays to help plan treatments for dentures, braces, and implants.
Soft Tissue Dental Lasers
Dental lasers (which use extremely focused light beams) are used in a wide range of soft tissue procedures, typically for healing and repair purposes. They help our dentist perform dental procedures such as lengthening crowns, reshaping gums and treating periodontal disease while minimizing the need for medical interventions and reducing pain.
Oral Cancer Screening Device
The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps the dentist to identify abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualisation technology, it can be performed in your dentist’s office during routine exams and under normal lighting conditions in about two minutes.
CEREC Same-Day Restorations
With CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) technology, ceramic dental crowns, inlays and onlays can be fabricated and placed in a single appointment.
